Review – Trader Joe’s Raspberry Tart

I first had this tart a few months ago after having discovered it on one of my many long Trader Joe’s visits. Ah, Trader Joe’s, you’re aisles could keep me entertained for hours… Anyways, their pre-made desserts are pretty amazing, so I highly recommend perusing the aisles yourself and finding something delicious-looking to try.

Back to the raspberry tart. First, it’s very easy to make. You have two options: simply let it thaw, or bake it in the oven for about 20 minutes. This is one of those desserts you can buy for that last minute dinner party that everyone will love.

I swear, it’s not supposed to look like this. I think I carried the grocery bag crooked :-/. I’ll get another picture next time I buy one.

The tart itself has that delightful, slightly sweet, slightly tart flavor characteristic of all raspberries. It’s so loaded with them, you never have a bite without one. The filling below is a subtle, sweet, custard-like substance that melts on the tongue. Finally, the crust is so good, I’ve found myself fighting my fiance for it (surprising considering this is a frozen dessert from a grocery). Needless to say, this is a good buy and is wonderfully indulgent for that sweet tooth in all of us.

How fast do you think I devoured this piece? I barely remembered to take the picture… Haha.
